Immigration conditions, fees, and benefits
Published conditions, government charges, and what an approved status allows, for popular destinations. Amounts are converted to yuan with the 23 October 2026 ECB reference rates. An application fee, a savings requirement, and a salary threshold are not added into one bill. This page is not immigration advice. A fee or a points score is not an approval.
ECB reference rates for 2026-10-23: 1 USD = 6.6702 yuan, 1 GBP = 8.917, 1 EUR = 7.466, 1 CAD = 4.766, 1 NZD = 3.7933, 1 SGD = 5.2173. Rounded to the nearest yuan. This is not a bank cash rate. Australia has no fee row on this page.
Canada · Express Entry economic permanent residence
The fees below are the economic permanent-residence charges after the 30 April 2026 increase, and the settlement funds updated on 7 July 2025. The CAD 1,590 figure already includes the processing fee and the right-of-permanent-residence fee. Read only the one settlement-funds row for the family size. Canadian Experience Class applicants, and Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades applicants who are authorized to work in Canada and have a valid job offer, do not have to show these settlement funds. Paying the fee is not an invitation or an approval.
Conditions
- Economic programs, including Express Entry, require an invitation before a permanent-residence application is filed.
- Federal Skilled Worker and Federal Skilled Trades applicants usually show settlement funds. Family size includes a spouse, partner, and dependent children even if they are not coming, or are already citizens or permanent residents.
- The money must be legally available. Equity in property does not count, and the money cannot be borrowed.

What the status allows
- After approval, a permanent resident may live, work, or study anywhere in Canada and may apply for citizenship.
- A permanent resident receives most social benefits that citizens receive, including a social insurance number and health coverage. Provincial sites set the health-coverage details.
- A permanent resident is protected by Canadian law and the Charter. A permanent resident cannot vote, run for office, or hold some jobs that need a high-level security clearance.
- To keep the status, a permanent resident must have been in Canada for at least 730 days in the last five years. The days need not be continuous. An expired card does not by itself end the status.

Australia · Skilled Independent (subclass 189), points-tested
Subclass 189 is a points-tested visa that makes the holder a permanent resident on the day it is granted. A score of 65 is the threshold for being considered for an invitation, not a guarantee of one. Home Affairs sets the visa application charge on the day it receives the application. This page does not copy third-party fee tables.
Conditions
- An expression of interest comes first. An application follows only if the person is invited.
- The occupation must be on the relevant skilled list, with a skills assessment.
- The points score must be at least 65, English at least competent, and age under 45 when invited.
- The main applicant and any family members included must meet the health and character requirements.
What the status allows
- On grant, the holder may live, work, and study anywhere in Australia on a permanent basis.
- The holder may enrol in Medicare.
- Travel to and from Australia is covered for five years. Re-entering as a permanent resident after that requires a Resident Return visa (subclass 155 or 157).
- Citizenship is available only if the person is eligible.

United Kingdom · Skilled Worker visa
This is limited leave to work, not permanent residence on the day it is granted. The application-fee rows are alternatives: use the one row that matches the application. The immigration health surcharge is charged separately for each year of the visa. Applicants usually also show at least £1,270 in available savings, unless an exemption applies. Immigration Salary List and Health and Care fees are lower alternatives, not amounts to add to the standard fee. The certificate of sponsorship is a separate sponsorship charge.
Conditions
- A sponsor must issue a certificate of sponsorship, and the job must meet the salary and skill rules for that occupation. This page does not merge occupation salary thresholds into one number.
- The main applicant, partner, and children each pay the application fee and the health surcharge.
- The Skilled Worker route has no recourse to public funds. Most welfare benefits are not available.

What the status allows
- During the visa, the holder works for the sponsor in the job on the certificate of sponsorship.
- Paying the immigration health surcharge is what the UK healthcare rule requires for use of the National Health Service. It does not make welfare benefits available.
- Settlement is a separate application. It is not granted automatically with the visa.

Germany · EU Blue Card and job-search Opportunity Card
The Blue Card figures are 2026 gross annual salary thresholds, not application fees. The Opportunity Card figure of €1,091 is the 2026 monthly living-cost standard. The visa fee and the later residence-permit fee are separate. Do not add a salary, a monthly living standard, and a fee into one bill. The Blue Card and the Opportunity Card are different applications.
Conditions
- An EU Blue Card needs a concrete job of at least six months that matches the qualification. In 2026 the general gross salary is at least €50,700. Shortage occupations, graduates within three years, and qualifying IT specialists use €45,934.20, and the Federal Employment Agency usually has to consent.
- The job-search Opportunity Card lasts up to one year. In 2026 the usual proof of funds is €1,091 net per month, by a blocked account or a declaration of commitment.
- The Opportunity Card also has points and qualification rules. This page lists only the funds and charges checked here, not a points table from a different page.
Fees and amounts
| Item | Source amount | Yuan |
|---|---|---|
| Blue Card, general occupations, gross annual salary | EUR 50,700 / year | 378,526 yuan/year |
| Blue Card, shortage occupation, recent graduate, or qualifying IT specialist | EUR 45,934.20 / year | 342,945 yuan/year |
| Job-search Opportunity Card, monthly living-cost standard | EUR 1,091 / month | 8,145 yuan/month about 97,745 yuan/year (monthly figure × 12) |
| Entry visa fee | EUR 75 / one-time | 560 yuan, one-time |
| Residence-permit fee after entry, upper amount | EUR 100 / one-time | 747 yuan, one-time |
What the status allows
- The Blue Card is a residence title for the qualified job. It is not permanent settlement on the day it is issued.
- The Opportunity Card is for looking for work in Germany. Pay from a contract of at most 20 hours a week can count toward the living-cost proof.
- The visa fee is €75 when the visa is filed. The foreigners authority may charge up to €100 for the residence permit after entry. Neither figure is added to the salary.

United States · adjustment of status (Form I-485)
The United States does not publish one national points test for a green card. Form I-485 is for a person already in the United States who is applying to register permanent residence or adjust status. The fees below are the paper filing amounts in 8 CFR 106.2. A child under 14 who files with a parent pays the lower amount. Some categories pay no fee. An immigrant visa processed abroad is a different process and a different fee. A medical exam and other forms are not included.
Conditions
- In general, the application cannot be filed until an immigrant visa is available in the category. The form instructions state the exceptions.
- The standard paper fee is US$1,440 at age 14 or older. A child under 14 who files at the same time as a parent pays US$950.

Singapore · Employment Pass (not permanent residence)
An Employment Pass is a work pass requested by an employer. It is not permanent residence. This Ministry of Manpower page does not publish a points pass mark for permanent residence. The table shows only the two ends of the current salary scale: the floor at age 23 or below, and the ceiling at age 45 or above. The amount rises with each year of age from 24 to 44, so the age-23 figure does not apply in between. A higher scale from 1 January 2027 is on the same page and is not shown here because it is not in force yet.
Conditions
- Stage 1 is the qualifying monthly salary. Outside financial services it is currently S$5,600 at age 23 or below and S$10,700 at age 45 or above. In financial services the figures are S$6,200 and S$11,800.
- Stage 2 is COMPASS, unless an exemption applies. The application needs 40 points. A candidate who misses the salary does not qualify through COMPASS points.
- New applications also have to meet the Fair Consideration Framework job-advertising rule. Employers can check a candidate with the Self-Assessment Tool.

| Financial services, qualifying salary at age 45 or above | SGD 11,800 / month | 61,564 yuan/month |
What the status allows
- The pass is for the job with the employer named on it. It is not a status that allows the holder to live permanently anywhere in Singapore.
- Permanent residence is a separate application. This page does not list healthcare, housing, or welfare for permanent residents, and those items are not added here.
