Chinatown
Westminster’s conservation audit: in the 1950s Chinese communities began to settle in Soho, especially on Gerrard Street. After Limehouse was damaged in the war, the streets around Gerrard Street came to be called Chinatown. It lies south of Shaftesbury Avenue, centred on Gerrard Street and including the north side of Lisle Street. The London Archives place the earlier settlement in Limehouse.
